UK debt figure released

Total UK personal debt hit £1,458bn at the end of October last year, while the 12-month growth rate fell to 0.7%.

Total lending in October 09 rose by £0.3bn, secured lending up by £0.9bn, while consumer credit lending dropped by a net £0.6bn.

According to figures from Credit Action, the total secured lending on dwellings stood at £1,230bn. The 12-month growth rate was unchanged at 0.8%.
