New CSA Chief Exec announced

The new Chief Executive Officer of the CSA – the industry's trade body – has been named after an extensive selection process.

Dr Roger Lucas, president of the CSA, announced that Peter Wallwork, current sales and marketing director of Gothia, has been appointed to the role.

Dr Lucas wrote in a letter to members: "Peter has a long history in the finance industry and has spent the last 25 years or so in lending collections roles, and the better part of the last 10 years in senior long term positions with CSA members NCO and iQor. Peter is very excited about the role and admits he will miss Gothia."

Meanwhile, Peter outlined his views for the future in CCR. He explained: "We are not coming at this from a point of view of having to clear anything up, rather we have a lot to build on and we just want to show government that there is some new blood on board and to develop the trust that has been built up over the last few years.

"Personally, I would like to get more involved in developing international ties and the international work that many of the members do, because I have done some international work in my career.

"Also, I want to look at the technology we use, how we get the best from it and how we regulate it. Technology is such a feature of the collections industry today that we need to make it a focus."

Kurt Obermaier, the current chief exec, is due to retire in April this year.
