A Successful Sellers' Lunch
The second DBSG 'Sellers Only' lunch took place earlier in the year and was attended by the majority of DBSG seller members.
15 representatives from 11 seller members – including Egg, Nationwide, Abbey, MBNA, Capital One, HSBC, Lloyds TSB, M&S Money, Sky, Virgin Media and Vodafone – all met to discuss the latest industry issues.
Informal in tone, all attendees were urged to contribute to the agenda prior to the meeting. Conversations were therefore rich and varied, but centred mainly on economic outlook, goodbye statements, expected debt sale activity and timing and access to data.
Leigh Berkley, Chair of the DBSG, explained: "This is the second DBSG Sellers Only lunch and I am delighted that interest and attendance continues to grow. The idea of a sellers only lunch originated from Tim Kirk, seller representative on the DBSG committee, who identified the need for sellers to network and share experience in confidential surroundings."
Numbers are strictly limited to keep the conversation fluid, so invites are purely on a first-come, first-served basis.
Steven Wrench, Head of Debt Management at Virgin Media, added: "This was my first attendance at this meeting. It was good to see so many sellers and look at how the market is changing from their perspective. The topics covered – in terms of the current state of the market, compliance et cetera – hit the mark for me and personally, I can't see how the meeting could have been improved."
The next DBSG Sellers Only lunch will be held on Wednesday, 28th October at the Priest House, Castle Donington. There is a small cover charge of £39 per person.
In addition, a Buyers Only lunch is planned to take place before Christmas, with details to be confirmed very soon.
