New 'Diploma Plus' Launched
A new 'Diploma Plus' course has been designed by the CSA, with a view to increasing the knowledge and accreditation of successful diploma students.
The course acts as an introduction to buying and selling debt and aims to give students an overview of the debt purchase market, the processes by which debt is sold, how to price and what contractual and compliance issues to look out for.
The course will include:
- A review of the debt purchase industry, how it evolved and the roles and influences of Brokers and the DBSG.
- Why sellers sell and buyers buy, what types of debt are sold and the skills and knowledge required to exploit them.
- An in-depth look at the sale process, what makes a good sale and how to avoid the pitfalls
- An appreciation of the different pricing methodology and how to enhance sellers' data.
- Contract considerations and legislation that specifically affect debt purchase accounts.
- Post purchase support and how to optimise collections - how does collecting purchased debt differ from contingency debt collection?
The course will comprise of a presentation, with full delegate interaction and debate. An additional module to the established CSA Diploma, this course will give delegates an introduction to debt purchase practices and principles.
Accredited by City & Guilds, the course runs for 2 days - with 1.5 days tutorial and 0.5 day assessment. Once successful, you will be given a City & Guilds Certificate to add to you diploma.
