CSA Appoints Odgers for New CEO
The CSA has named Odgers Berndtson as advisors to oversee the recruitment and appointment of a new Executive Director for the organisation.
Odgers Berndtson has extensive experience within the financial services sector and specialises in the appointments at board level.
Kurt Obermaier, the Current Executive Director, is due to retire in April 2010. He explained: "The board of the Association believe the appointment of an independent third party is crucial to reassure applicants of confidentiality and professionalism, and to fulfil our duty to members to make sure we have the right person for the job, with the experience and enthusiasm to continue to drive the CSA forward."
Phil Bainbridge, a partner at Odgers Berndtson, added: "I am delighted to be working with the Association and the current Executive Director in the recruitment of such a unique and prestigious role within the industry and I am confident that we can attract a very high calibre of candidate."
Leigh Berkley, Chair of the DBSG, has also been involved in the process and he has been impressed with what they've seen so far. He said: "We've had some very exciting candidates apply for this role and now it is a case of whittling those down to create an exceptional shortlist.
"It's going to be very hard to fill Kurt's shoes and the right candidate will need to be able to run the CSA head office, deal with PR and Government officials and bring the organisation's disparate membership of DCAs, Sellers and Buyers together.
"It will be a genuine challenge to find the successful candidate."
